Interview with Julie Angus of Open Ocean Robotics (October 9th, 2019)
In this first episode of Cleantech Talks, we talk to Julie Angus who is CEO of Open Ocean Robotics. Before starting this cleantech company, Julie studied psychology and molecular biology and worked in venture capital, business development, and technology transfer. She and husband, Colin, have been on various expeditions around the world, including one in which Julie became the first woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean. In 2006, Julie and Colin won the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year Award.
Interview with Devesh Bharadwaj and Dr. Ian MacDonald of Pani Energy (October 31st, 2019)
In this episode, we talk to Devesh Bharadwaj and Dr. Ian MacDonald of Pani Energy. Devesh, CEO of the company, began researching water treatment during his time as a student at the University of Victoria. He founded Pani Energy in an effort to bring advanced system design and Artificial Intelligence to lift the state-of-the-art and reduce operational costs associated with extracting fresh water from non-fresh sources.
Interview with Peter Van Der Gracht of QuantoTech (November 12th, 2019)
In this episode, we talk to Peter van der Gracht, chairman and co-founder of QuantoTech. Peter is a serial technology entrepreneur who has successfully launched, financed, operated and sold multiple technology companies. He’s worked in a number of industries, including cable television, telecommunications, broadcasting, information technology, mining, automotive, and agriculture.
Interview with Sam Samida-Pugh of Progressive Fusion Solutions (November 26th, 2019)
In this episode, we talk to Sam Samida-Pugh, CEO of Progressive Fusion Solutions, a fusion technology company. Sam founded PFS in an effort to develop the world’s first net-gain fusion generator, after planning to build a fusion reactor for a school science fair at the age of 16.

In this episode, Sean Bourquin, CEO of First Light Technologies, tells us about the solar-powered lighting space. Sean’s been at the helm of First Light for a decade now and has seen how the technology has evolved over time. The products made and sold by the company work to make communities safer and more usable when it’s dark out.

In this episode, we’re talking to Dr. Joel Rogers, a senior nuclear physicist and Chief Scientist at Progressive Fusion Solutions in Vancouver. His work contributes to the commercialization of fusion reactors that provide clean, safe, and inexhaustible electricity.
